What is the Alphabet Project?
The Alphabet Project is a 3 [prong approach to teaching accessibility, patience, understanding, and inclusivity to the Wichita Community.
The first approach is through businesses, non-profits, and other organizations who are wanting to make sure all of their employees have a spot at the table. It will help them navigate ADA, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and general inclusivity verbiage to create a place where all beliefs and backgrounds are heard.
The second is for caregivers, parents, teachers, or anyone else who might have a child who has a disability, who may have recently come out as part of the LGBTQIA+ community, or who are just exploring who they are as a person.
And the third will be creating online, educational content covering all areas regarding The Alphabet Project. From fully understanding how your child with Autism thinks to tips and common accommodations for the disabled, it will be a one-stop shop for all things inclusive.
Call for help!!!
I am currently looking for 5 -10 small businesses in the Wichita area that would like to help test and fine-tune The Alphabet Project. These businesses would ideally be under 50 employees here at the beginning and eager to create better and more inclusive and diverse policies. To hear the full story behind it all, you can check out my talk at 1 Million Cups. If you are interested in helping out or have any questions, please fill out The Alphabet Project Request Form or use our Contact Us page. Thank you all so much you came out to support this project.
